Welcome to a website that gives you power by guiding you through a journey in 'knowing God's will'. I encourage you to begin this adventure with me and many other people around the world that desire to know what God's will for them is. Throughout the year there will be different books of the New Testament that we will read, and there will be opportunities to share your thoughts and summarizations of the chapters you read with other people just like you that want to truly know God's will.
Knowing God's will doesn't have to be for theologians and scholars only, in fact God designed it so that everyone could use and understand the most powerful book, the most powerful tool ever given to mankind. I believe that if you commit yourself to the challenge that I am imparting to you that over the course of the next year and the years to come you will have a clearer understanding of these powerful words.
THE CHALLENGE!
Each month there'll be a letter selected from the New Testament for the monthly reading, and we'll be reading that book every day for the entire month. Why read it so often? I believe this is a powerful way to permamently lock the words we read into our long-term memory. The more we read it the more we become familiar with not only what it says but where to find it in the text. Early scholars would use similar techniques to help them become proficient in the word. I hope you'll practice this with a host of other believers longing for the same thing... to know His will.
At the end of each month write out a summary of each chapter in the letter we are reading. Write it out in your own words and in a way that you will be able to remember it, thus locking it in your long-term memory. There is a blog link on this website allowing you to post your summaries so you can share and view other people's summaries and comments. You can also keep a journal or write it on a index card and look at it through out the week. If you've stuck with the challenge in reading the letter every day then these summarizations will trigger your memory on what you've read and I believe you'll notice a difference in your thinking.
*You may be asking what happens when it is time to read a longer book like Matthew for example? We won't read any more than five chapters per month. So we would read chapters 1-5 everyday for the entire month and at the end of the month we would write our summary statements about the chapters we read. Then the next month we would pick up in chapters 6-10 and do the same thing until we finished the book.
I encourage you to pray about what you read. Pray with a friend that wants to participate in this challenge, or pray with someone that needs to be encouraged with the words you'll be reading. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at agentklb@yahoo.com .
